Thunderhill Raceway Park

Thunderhill Raceway Park is near Willows in California, about an hour north of Sacramento, and has been operating for over 30 years by its own account. The facility holds two circuits that can be run separately or combined: the East track of around three miles has 15 turns and mixes long, sweeping curves with tighter, more complex sections, while the West track of around two miles is described by the operator as technical with linked corners. Together they form a five-mile circuit, and there are two skid pads on site. The venue runs racing, track days, club events, testing, autocross, drifting, karting and motorcycle training, and advertises more track time and fewer barriers to entry than traditional circuits. Track day pricing is not consistently documented in public. For you that mix means holding the same bike stable through long, fast sweepers and then threading it through the tighter, linked part moments later - the geometry compromise is what decides the lap time. When a bike will not hold a tight line, top of our cause list is too little rear ride height: it makes the steering lazy. Raise the rear or drop the front to sharpen the turn-in.
