Silver Springs on Fuller Road in western New York runs two courses side by side: the outdoor track and the floodlit Nite-X clay track, where riding carries on after sunset. The ground is loose, the corners are almost all built-up berms with plenty of small jumps between them, and hard-packed sections and steep climbs are largely absent. Gates open Saturday 11:00 to 23:00 and Sunday 07:00 to 20:00, and admission is 10 dollars per person. Showers, a pavilion, a wash station, a concession stand and camping are all on site, and motorcycles only are allowed on track. Treat the two courses as two different sessions. The outdoor track is where you build speed, the short clay track under lights is where you work on lines - mixing both into one session means doing neither properly. The problem most likely to find you on the fast sections: the bike goes vague and restless through quick sweepers. Top of our cause list is ride-height and sag balance - set the sag properly before you touch a single clicker.
