The track at Rocchetta di Fabriano lies in the province of Ancona in the Marche region. The mxcenter.it track directory lists it at 1,500 metres, hard ground, category 3 and an FMI homologation; no fixed training times are published, the directory points you to calling the track instead. There is virtually no infrastructure: no bar, no cold or hot showers, no 220 V sockets, no floodlights and no minicross area. The local outlet Civetta reported that the historic venue was enlarged, repaired and cleaned up before it reopened on 26 March 2016. The rework was guided by rider Andrea Goffredi together with Giacomo Sassi and Moto Club Artiglio di Attiggio, among other things in preparation for the Gran Premio d'Italia di Enduro that July; according to Goffredi the course was laid out for amateur and competition riders alike. Hard ground gives very little: lines stay narrow, grip comes from the tyre's contact patch rather than from dug-in ruts, and on our record the layout is tight and technical on top of that. If the front end feels vague on that kind of surface and simply will not bite, top of our cause list is too much front tyre pressure - drop it so the tyre puts more rubber on the ground.
