Motocrossbahn Kröbeln

The Kroebeln motocross track lies between Kroebeln and the Burgwall on the bank of the Kleine Roeder in the Elbe-Elster district of southern Brandenburg. The village page for Kroebeln describes how it came about: in the 1980s a farming cooperative dug a retention and pre-warming basin there for irrigation and dumped the spoil alongside it - that earth bank became the foundation of the track. In 1996 the motorsport club was founded that has run the place ever since, holds regular training there and has since been able to take in members from Berlin. For events the village page names an open race, a 3-hour enduro, a state championship round, the Brandenburg-Berlin biathlon and a round of the German youth championship. Training times and fees are not publicly documented, and the club's own site was unreachable when we checked. The track grew on an earth bank, and what we have on file as its surface is sand - soft ground reshapes take-off faces over a training day, so the tenth landing is no longer the first. If the bike kicks at the lip and tips you forward, top of our cause list is rebound returning too fast at the rear and pushing the wheel up off the face. Take a few clicks of rebound out of it and ride the same lip again.
