Mantorp Park

Mantorp Park is run by Mantorp Park Motorbana AB and sits on Parisvagen in Mantorp, east of Linkoping. The facility opened on 31 August 1969, financed by BP Sverige and laid out by Lars Olof Larsson; it counts as Sweden's first permanent circuit built to international standard and describes itself as the national motorsport arena. Wikipedia gives the long configuration as 3.106 kilometres with thirteen turns and the short one as 1.868 kilometres with eight; the original 4.098-kilometre lap existed until 1980. There is a drag strip on site - in 2008 the first in Europe to adopt the 1000-foot format - plus a skid pad, grandstand, restaurant and conference rooms. Formula 2 raced here from 1971 to 1973 and again in 1981 and 1982, the STCC from 1996 to 2022 and again in 2024, and the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia runs there as well. The operator sells track days and test days and runs racing, drift and safety schools. The mix of long straights and technical corner combinations means you reach real top speed before you have to brake hard again. If the bike starts to weave or gets restless down the straight, top of our cause list is a ride-height and sag balance that is off with the rear sitting too high: set the sag first before you blame a steering damper or the compression.
