Korea International Circuit

The Korea International Circuit lies near Yeongam in South Jeolla Province, some 400 kilometres south of Seoul according to racingcircuits.info. Hermann Tilke designed the facility, and it was run by Korea Auto Valley Operation, a joint venture of M-Bridge Holdings and the provincial government. Wikipedia dates the opening to 11 October 2010; the Formula One Korean Grand Prix ran here from 2010 to 2013, four events in total, after which the circuit dropped off the calendar. The Grand Prix layout measures 5.615 kilometres with 18 corners, alongside a national layout of 3.045 kilometres and a shortened Grand Prix version used since 2019. It is rated FIA Grade 2, the grandstands hold 135,000 spectators, and today the venue mainly hosts the Superrace Championship with rounds in May and September. For getting there, racingcircuits.info lists 8,000 parking spaces, park-and-ride and shuttle buses from Mokpo. Public track days and fees are not documented. The layout swings hard between extremes: a double left-hander off the line leads into a 1.160 kilometre straight, then the tight switchbacks of turns four to six and several fifth-gear sections; turn 17 is a long right that stays completely blind between walls. So you drop from top speed into a technical stretch and back out again, and it is in the fast sweepers that you notice the bike going vague instead of sitting calmly on its line. Top of our cause list for that is a ride-height and sag balance that is off: set sag properly before you start turning damping clicks.
