The Circuit de la Comtesse sits near Plomion in the Aisne and is run by Moto Club Marle et Plomion, which also refers to the venue as La Comtesse. The track directory mxcircuit.fr lists the course at 2000 metres long and 8 metres wide and describes the surface as natural earth with stones and pebbles. According to the same source, riding is possible every Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 6pm, but only with advance notice; an FFM licence is required and a day costs 10 euros. Motorcycles, quads and sidecars are all admitted. The directory also names the venue as a host of world championship rounds, and the club's own site likewise puts race dates front and centre. Natural earth with a stone content dries out hard, and that is exactly when the front tells you the least: the front wheel feels vague and the grip never reaches you.
