Track details
Dry hardpack turns hard, slick and dusty - little grip reserve, especially on corner exit.
After rain a greasy film forms on the hard base - very slippery until the surface dries.
Arizona Cycle Park is at 25848 S 279th Ave in Buckeye, Arizona. The operator runs several courses side by side on the property: a national track, an SMX/Vet track, a minicross track, an old school track, plus sand drags and a UTV short course. The calendar shows regular MX practice, which in August runs on several dates from 6am to 11am for bikes only; for the Buckeye Drags the gate opens at 6pm and the event runs 7pm to midnight. Events listed by the operator include the SMX series, the Arizona State Championship, a Loretta Lynn area qualifier, the Cactus State, the Copperstate and an Amateur Open SX. Protective gear requirements sit in a separate rule set linked as a PDF; sign-up and questions go through the park's phone number and email address. Entry and practice prices are not documented on the front page. Our record lists the surface as hardpack plus the trait jumps. Dry, packed ground gives the front little back: the contact patch is small, and in flat corners you only notice the missing grip when it washes out. Top of our cause list is this: the front feels vague and finds low grip on hardpack because there is too much front pressure - lower it for a bigger contact patch. Treat that as a starting point, not a safety promise.
