Villacidro - La Spendula

The Crossodromo La Spendula lies about five kilometres outside Villacidro in southern Sardinia, close to the waterfall of the same name, and is run by Motoclub Villacidro. The Mxcenter track directory describes the course as cut into a hillside and surrounded by cork oak forest; it is 1,800 metres long, laid on earth and sand, and homologated by the FMI in category 3. Opening times are Saturday from 4 to 7 pm and Sunday from 9 am to noon, with a note telling you to contact the operator before travelling. A cold shower is documented; there is no bar, no hot shower, no 220-volt supply and no floodlighting, and there is no separate minicross loop. Fees are not publicly documented. Our record has sand as the surface plus the traits technical, off-camber and jumps - a course cut into a slope delivers exactly that: corners that fall away the wrong way and little berm for the front wheel to lean on. When the front washes out in those flat corners, top of our cause list is a fork riding too firm and simply not building any front bite. Open the front compression a few clicks so the front wheel takes load at all.
