The facility is run by Motor-Sport-Club Meckbach 1972 e.V. and sits, according to the club, in 36251 Ludwigsau-Meckbach between Bad Hersfeld and Bebra on the B27. The club describes the main track as 1400 metres long on firm clay and loam ground, with steep slopes and big tables; there is a separate children's course alongside it. The club website gives riding on Saturdays and Sundays from 15:00 to 18:00 and asks explicitly that you check the calendar first to see whether the track is open that day - the most recent notice was a cancellation for a June weekend because of heat. The day fee is 10 euros for the children's course and 15 euros for the main track, for guests and for licence-free club members alike. Camping overnight on the grounds is forbidden, as is riding outside the posted hours; the club states it reports breaches to the authorities without exception. Firm clay and loam carries well as long as it holds moisture, and it turns hard and beaten up once it dries out. Combined with steep slopes and big tables you land here with force rather than rolling out gently, and the rear takes most of it.
