South-east of Toulouse, in the Lauragais, a simple principle applies: open once a month, but properly. Moto-Club du Lauragais rides on the 4th Sunday, from 9 am for club licence holders, from midday for everyone else, until 6 pm. The French sports facility register lists the track at 1,800 metres long and eight metres wide, natural surface, on a two-hectare site - eight metres is generous, and two lines fit side by side here. If you only get to this track once a month, the first hour is the important one. Ride it deliberately slowly and look at where the ground has moved since the last date; the second hour then delivers more than three hours of searching. On a technical lap the most common annoyance is not the line but the engine dying in a tight section. Top of our cause list is a dragging clutch or a flywheel that is too light - a flywheel weight takes exactly that low-rpm stalling out.
