The motocross track at Gbely in the Slovak Zahorie region is run by Motocross Club Gbely. The town states on its own page that the club was founded in 2011 by three enthusiasts and that the town provided the land for a practice track; within its first year the club was already staging regional competitions, and international events followed through the Slovak federation. In 2016, after five years of operation, the club had the course rebuilt by Greg Atkins from New Zealand to bring it up to European parameters. According to the Slovak motorcycle federation, practice runs on Tuesdays from 13:00 to 20:00, Thursdays from 12:00 to 20:00, and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 to 18:00; a practice session costs 8 euros or 250 Czech crowns. Club president Peter Kovarik is listed as the contact. Neither source states the track length or the surface - our record holds roughly 1,650 metres on firm hardpack. How Gbely rides follows from that rebuild by a professional track builder: our record holds a fast character with jumps, and firm ground forgives little on a take-off face - arrive with too much speed and the rear gets thrown up. Top of our cause list is rebound that returns too fast and launches the rear off the face; slow it a few clicks before you change anything about your approach.
