The Crossodromo Internacional de Agueda sits on the grounds of the Agueda aerodrome in the Aveiro district, just over 30 kilometres inland from the Atlantic coast. The World Championship round is organised by ACTIB, the Agueda Action Club; MXGP Portugal is scheduled for 26 to 28 June 2026 and runs MXGP and MX2 alongside the EMX125 and EMX250 European Championship classes. The place has Grand Prix history: the first GP ran in August 1985 and was won by Dave Strijbos on a 125cc Honda, and Agueda is one of only three Portuguese venues ever to hold Grand Prix motocross. Antonio Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings share the record with five wins each; Herlings won in 2011, 2012 and 2013 in MX2, then again in 2018 and 2023 in MXGP. For spectators the car park costs 3 euro a day and a caravan pitch 15 euro for the weekend. The ground is firm and clayey and turns into bright orange mud after rain - the last edition was very wet, and conditions swing noticeably from year to year. Our data has the layout as technical, with jumps and off-camber sections. Where that kind of soil carves deep ruts, the front wheel tends to knife in and oversteer; top of our cause list for that is a fork riding too low and folding into the rut, so add compression at the front before you start doubting your line choice.
