The Circuit Jules Tacheny sits in Mettet in the province of Namur and is run by the RUMESM association; the venue was inaugurated on 12 March 2010. The operator lists the main track at 2,280 metres, 12 metres wide and 14 metres on the main straight, which itself measures 609 metres, with ten bends - seven left, three right - and 13 metres of elevation difference across a 14-hectare site. A dedicated supermoto layout of 1,428 metres is flagged out, 66 per cent asphalt and 34 per cent off-road, next to a rallycross variant and a dirt track of 226 metres. The calendar carries the Belgian Supermoto Championship, the S1GP of Belgium world championship round, the Superbiker and the Belgian Rallycross Championship, plus trackdays for supermoto, speed, minibikes and dirt track. Paddocks of more than 40,000 square metres, a control tower with a medical post and briefing rooms, and a bistro overlooking the track belong to the facility. On a lap this short you are almost permanently swapping from one corner into the next, and in the supermoto layout every off-road section puts you straight back into an asphalt turn. If your bike will not hold the tight line and runs wide past the apex, top of our cause list is too little rear ride height: the steering goes lazy when the rear sits too low - raise the rear, or drop the front, and the bike turns in more sharply.
