Canyon Motocross on Carefree Highway west of Peoria, Arizona, was formerly known as Canyon Off Road Park and ran four courses side by side: a main track, a mini track for 65s and 85s, a peewee loop and a vet track. The main course was groomed and watered; the vet track stayed smaller and rougher. The ground is described as mostly loose dirt with hard-packed sections, with many large jumps and berms in nearly every corner, on a 100-acre site around 420 metres above sea level. On current operation the sources contradict each other flatly. Settle that before you load the trailer - a site this size rarely stands idle, but do not take it on trust. If you do ride here, the difference between the watered main track and the dry vet loop is big enough that one setup will not cover both. Decide before the first session which of the two you are taking seriously that day. The familiar problem on big jumps: the bike kicks off the face instead of leaving it calmly. First on our cause list is shock rebound - it returns too fast, so slow it down.
