Swan MX

Swan MX is run by the Moe family - Jason, Laurie, Katelin and Colton - and sits on County Road 433 in Tyler, Texas. The venue calls itself the oldest continuously running racetrack in Texas with over 59 years of motorcycle activity, and it hosts regional series rounds as well as training camps. A riding day costs 35 dollars. The ground is red dirt, watered throughout the day according to the operator. Facilities include covered and lighted starting gates, grandstand seating, a third-story observation deck, air-conditioned restrooms with hot showers, food concessions, picnic tables, a children's playground, shaded parking and RV hookups with water and electricity. The site is fenced and has a single manned entry point. The red ground, listed as clay in our record and watered all day long, rides with plenty of grip but cuts deep, firm ruts as the hours pass, and in those the front wheel is guided rather than steered. Top of our cause list for a front that knifes and oversteers is a fork riding too soft and diving too deep in the rut - a few extra clicks of front compression are the first thing to reach for here.
