The "Slotten" near Slots Bjergby grew out of a gravel pit: around 1970 Korsoer Motorklub under Joergen Finnemann started cross racing there, and when that club could no longer sustain itself the track passed to Slagelse MX - a club founded in 1926 and among the oldest motorsport clubs in Denmark. Between 2007 and 2019 world and European championship rounds ran here every year, more often than at any other Danish MX club. The 2024 DMU track inspection lists the layout at Jaettehoejvej as 1612 metres; the club itself describes it as 8 to 10 metres wide with eleven jumps between 4 and 16 metres. The ground is a mixture of gravel, sand and clay and copes with a lot of water, which makes it one of the more reliable addresses on Zealand after rain. Eleven jumps in 1612 metres means the take-off face decides your day. The classic problem is a bike that kicks and bucks instead of leaving cleanly. Top of our cause list for that is the rear rebound - when it returns too fast it launches the back end off the face.
