Rocket Raceway - the operator calls the venue Rocket MX & Outdoor Entertainment Complex - sits on Starr Road near Three Springs in central Pennsylvania. According to riderplanet-usa the property covers 36 acres at roughly 900 to 1,000 feet of elevation; the main track is about 1.5 miles long and lap times run around two minutes. The soil is loamy dirt mixed with mulch and sawdust, and the rolling hills produce deep berms and plenty of jumps. Small machinery gets its own mini track and a separate peewee track. The operator states opening times of Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm, 50 US dollars per bike, free entry for spectators and cash only; there is no gate fee on practice days and 15 US dollars on race weekends. Quads are welcome on the last Sunday of each month. Primitive camping is permitted, there are vault toilets and a dumpster, and the track is groomed and watered regularly. Plenty of jumps on rolling ground means you rarely meet the faces cleanly - you often hit them while the suspension is still extending. The rear then bucks off the lip and throws you into the air crooked. Top of our cause list is rebound that is too fast at the rear - slow it down so the shock does not launch you back after the hit.
