Red Bull Romaniacs (Sibiu)

Red Bull Romaniacs is not a permanent track but a five-day hard enduro rally centred on Sibiu, Romania. Martin Freinademetz founded it in 2004; according to Wikipedia it is now part of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship and draws competitors from more than 52 nations every year. Day one is an in-city Prolog on Bulevardul Coposu, the main street in the centre of Sibiu, followed by four offroad days on enduro trails in the regions around Sibiu and in the Southern Carpathians. Riders are split into graded classes - Atom, Iron, Bronze, Silver and Gold, plus Adventure and eMoto classes added in 2025 - and the daily distance runs between 100 km and 180 km depending on the class. Tarmac is avoided as far as possible. The organiser's own site gives 28 July to 1 August for the 2026 edition, lists Gold, Silver and Bronze alongside an Adventure class for recreational entrants, and offers registration, bike rental, transport, GPS support and pre-race preparation camps. Entry fees are not published openly on the site; registration goes through the organiser. The character is mountain and forest ground: rocks, roots, trees, mud and steep inclines, as the course description sums it up. For you that means long sections at very low revs, working the clutch between individual obstacles - and that is exactly where the engine tends to die. Top of our cause list for it is a dragging clutch or a flywheel that is too light: a flywheel weight, or a clutch setup adjusted properly, keeps the bike alive through those sections.
