MX Podluhy

The Podluhy motocross track lies near Horovice in the Central Bohemian region. The Sumavsky Amater Cup entry documents for the Memorial Bohumila Krause, run here by Motokros Klub Brezova together with AMK Zalany on 28 September 2024, describe the layout in concrete terms: 1450 metres long, at least 3 metres wide, with a hard clay-loam surface. Riders started in the 65, 85, AMA 125 two-stroke, AMA 250, AMA 450, Veteran, CZ, MX2 and Open classes; the entry fee was 1000 crowns per class plus 100 crowns for each additional one, and each class was capped at 40 riders plus two reserves. For open practice the motozabava.cz directory lists Wednesday from 13:00 to 18:00 and Saturday from 11:00 to 16:00; it names no fee. Our own record holds an altitude of around 400 metres. A hard clay-loam base barely gives when it is dry: it holds a line cleanly but sends little back, and the front end feels vague long before it actually lets go. Add the documented minimum width of 3 metres - where the track pinches down that far you commit to a line early and hardly correct it. For exactly that vague front on hard ground, top of our cause list is too much front tyre pressure. Take pressure out of the front so the contact patch grows and the front wheel starts talking to you again.
