MSC Altmark (Stendal-Borstel)

The motocross track at Borstel just outside Stendal is run by MSC Altmark e.V. The track directory mx-info.de lists the club as founded in 1990 with around 100 members. The course is given as roughly 1,500 metres of pure sand, with steep turns, short climbs and long straights. Riding runs all year with no winter break: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 13:00 to 20:00. Guest riders pay between 15 and 25 euros per day according to the same source, members ride at no extra cost, and annual membership is 50 euros. Besides motocross bikes, enduros, quads and sidecars are permitted. There is a separate children's track of about 300 metres, where guests pay 10 euros a day. Pure sand means the lines get deep over a training day, and the rear starts working hard on the long straights and in the rutted turns. Our records also describe the character as fast and technical at the same time, which loads the shock more than anything else. When the rear starts pogoing and swimming in the deep sand, top of our cause list is rebound set too fast: slow it down, a few clicks less out, so the rear stays down after each wave.
