Motocross Ste-Julie

Motocross Ste-Julie sits on Rue Principale in Sainte-Julie, Quebec, and is run by the Pepin family, who cut the course into their own farmland in 1972. The operator lists the venue as the oldest still-active motocross track in Canada. Around 40 years of provincial and national races were followed by 13 years without racing; the local paper Les Versants reported the return in 2025, with the provincial Challenge Quebec on 1 and 2 June and the national Triple Crown round on 28 and 29 June, for which the organisers expected 8,000 to 10,000 visitors. The operator's calendar now lists a provincial round on 27 June 2026 and Triple Crown round three on 28 June 2026. There are no fixed practice hours: the operator announces the open practice dates in spring, with the schedule and the fees to follow. The course is not built up from imported dirt, it follows the natural lie of the land; our record holds clay as the surface, with a technical character, off-camber sections and jumps. Clay works itself into deep ruts over the course of a day, and that is where it is decided whether the front wheel holds the line or knifes in and oversteers. Top of our cause list for that is a fork set too soft: it rides too low in the stroke and folds into the rut - add front compression before you touch anything else.
