MC Meerane Motocross

The motocross venue in Meerane belongs to Moto-Cross e.V. Meerane im ADMV, founded in 1974. According to mx-info.de the loop is 830 metres long, runs on pure loam soil and covers 25 metres of elevation change, including a steep section at 75 percent gradient; the character is described as supercross-like. There is a separate 380-metre track for the youngest riders with scaled-down obstacles, plus a starting gate for practising starts. Training runs on Wednesday and Friday from 15:00 to 18:00 and on Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 18:00; the season runs from April to October depending on weather. A day pass costs 5 euros up to 50 cc, 10 euros up to 65 cc and 15 euros from 85 cc; membership is 60 euros per year. Motocross and enduro bikes up to 500 cc and no louder than 94 dB are permitted, quads are not. In August the club holds the Meerane motocross festival. Loam binds when it is damp and forms deep, clearly cut ruts. On 830 metres with a supercross character the berms and jumps arrive back to back, so you rarely get a quiet second to sort the bike out. The ruts are where you first see whether the front is right: it knifes in and steers more than you asked for. Top of our cause list is a fork set too soft that rides too deep.
