Loretta Lynn's Ranch

The track belongs to Loretta Lynn's 6,000 acre ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, and it is not an everyday practice ground. It is built for the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, which the organiser MX Sports has scheduled for August 3 to August 8, 2026. Wikipedia traces the race back to 1982 and to promoter Dave Coombs, whose idea was a national amateur race held away from the riders' home grounds. There are 37 classes with a maximum of 42 riders each, and you only make the gate if you came through an Area Qualifier and a Regional, so entry runs by invitation. The ranch holds around 300 campsites and the organiser publishes its own camping rules for them. Open practice outside race week is not publicly documented, and neither source states a track length. Our record has the surface as loam and the character as fast. On a lap that runs through wide, quick sweepers the demand is less about strength than about whether the bike stays calm when you leave the throttle open. That is exactly where a machine that feels vague at speed and starts to wander through a long corner shows itself. Top of our cause list for that is a ride-height and sag balance that is off: set the sag properly before you change anything on the compression clickers.
