Little Silver Motocross Park

Little Silver Motocross Park sits near Exeter in Devon and has existed since 2000 according to the operator. The site covers 18 acres, roughly half of it the track and the rest paddock, spectator areas and parking; for larger events a further field of more than 22 acres next door is available for parking. The track is about one mile long and can be adjusted to suit club requirements, with a minimum width of five metres widening to ten in places. The start has 40 GP-standard gates and an 88-metre start straight, and the spectator areas are fenced with chestnut post and rail. The operator also lists toilets in the pits and parking areas, a burger van and medical staff with 4x4 vehicles at every event. Practice times and fees are not documented on the site. The operator describes the ground as red sandy soil and the layout as a sequence of waves, berms, ski jumps, step-ups, step-downs and table tops - which means a lot of air time and landings in quick succession, and our record adds a tight, technical character. If the suspension bottoms hard on those landings, top of our cause list is a rear high-speed compression that is too soft: add some so the shock controls the hit instead of simply passing it through.
