EMC Witzschdorf

The EMC Witzschdorf e.V. motocross track is not in Witzschdorf itself: according to the track directory MX-Info it sits at Hauptstrasse 78 in 09573 Dittmannsdorf in the Erzgebirge. The same source gives a length of around 1200 metres and describes the ground as hard, stony loam; the site runs across a hillside and is built around steep banked corners and climbs. Practice is on Tuesday and Thursday from 16.30 to 19.00 and on Saturday from 14.00 to 17.00, explicitly for guests as well as club members, and it costs 8.00 euro per day and vehicle. Motocross, enduro, sidecar and quad riders are all admitted - quads are not allowed everywhere. The club is listed with 745 members. Hard loam on a slope gives you two states: dried out it forms a smooth, slippery crust, after rain it breaks into deep ruts that dictate your line. Our own record has this track as loam with a technical character. In those ruts the front end decides whether you ride the corner or it rides you. Top of our cause list is: the fork rides too low (too soft) and knifes into the rut - add compression. Treat that as a starting point and re-check it in your first laps.
