Duns Motocross Track

Duns Motocross Track sits on Langton Lees Farm near Duns in the Scottish Borders. According to the Moto Track Guide directory the venue is run by Duns MX, and it is described there as a fixture of the Scottish off-road scene since the early eighties. There is one main circuit; opening days are weekends and Wednesdays, with an explicit note to check the status before you set off. Across the season the track runs both championship rounds and regular practice days. For infrastructure the directory lists private track hire, mechanics on site, a spares shop, food and camping. No track length is publicly documented, and neither is a reliable price. Our record has it as hard, packed ground with fast sections, technical passages and corners with no banking. On a surface like that the front only builds grip once the fork actually takes load - in flat, unbanked corners you otherwise lose all feel for the front wheel and it pushes wide instead of biting. Top of our cause list for that is a fork set too firm that rides too high in the stroke: take a few clicks out of the compression so the front works itself into the ground.
