Crossstrecke Striessen

The Striessen motocross track is at Hainweg in 01561 Priestewitz and is run by the BF-Racing Club of SG Striessen e.V. The operator gives the length as 1000 metres and describes the ground as predominantly loam and sand. Quads, enduros, motocross machines and pitbikes are permitted, and guest riders are explicitly welcome. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 until one hour before dark, with Sundays and public holidays by request only. The training fee is 5 euros per day from 125cc upwards and 3 euros for Simson machines, while children up to 12 ride free. The decisive point is the operator's instruction to register by phone beforehand: the track is locked, so without notice you will stand in front of a closed gate. Our own record places the track at roughly 149 metres altitude. Loamy ground with a sand content cuts deep ruts once it is damp, and that is where the handling is decided: the front knifes in and oversteers instead of following your line. Top of our cause list is a fork that rides too low, that is, too soft, and folds into the rut - add compression. Treat that as a starting point for your first laps rather than a finished setup, and check after a few laps whether the front is carrying again.
