Classic Enduro Zschopau (MSC MZ)

The Classic Enduro at Zschopau is not a permanently open track but an event run by MSC MZ Zschopau e.V., an ADAC club. Since 2004 the club has held it as a genuine classic off-road reliability trial under the old name Rund um die MZ-Stadt Zschopau, a title last carried by the 1990 world championship round; the 23rd edition took place on 28 June 2025. It began in 2001 as the Zschopau enduro meeting, initially only for MZ and Simson off-road machines, which were displayed in the courtyard of Wildeck Castle; from 2003 other makes were admitted as well. According to the club one lap covers around 50 kilometres and runs over easy terrain but also through demanding sections. Each lap is scored with a test on the ski slope, one on a training track, an acceleration and braking test and a style-riding test, and a handicap system offsets the age of rider and machine. The rider paddock was at the Multizentrum Zschopau, and spectator entry was free. For 2026 the club additionally hosts the FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy: it reports around 400 entries from 17 countries, the entry window ran from 1 April to 31 May 2026, and the paddock is at Alte Marienberger Strasse in Hohndorf. A reliability trial of around 50 kilometres per lap is not made of full throttle but of many slow, technical passages between the tests - and there you lose time not through a lack of power but through a stalled engine. Top of our cause list is a dragging clutch or a flywheel that is too light: a flywheel weight, or a cleanly set up clutch, cuts low-rpm stalling. Treat that as a starting point, particularly on classic machinery.
