Zhuhai International Circuit in Guangdong province came into service in November 1996, according to Wikipedia, and was China's first permanent race track. It was laid out by the Australian firm Kinhill Engineers, the same office behind Adelaide's Formula One circuit. The lap is 4.319 kilometres long and is run clockwise only; of its 14 corners, nine turn right and five turn left, the start-finish straight measures 900 metres and a second straight 500 metres. The circuit holds FIA Grade 2 homologation. It is a regular fixture for motorcycles: the Asia Road Racing Championship visited in 2001 and 2002, continuously from 2004 to 2012, in 2019 and again in 2023 and 2024, and teams from Hong Kong and Macau base themselves in the circuit garages. In June 2024 Huafa Urban Operation bought the venue from the LBS Bina Group for roughly 192.18 million yuan. The source names no practice times or fees for private riders, so settle that before you travel. A 900 metre straight plus the mix of fast sections and tight hairpins means you reach top speed repeatedly, and a bike that starts to weave up there takes away the confidence you need for the braking zone that follows.
