A few miles south of Reliance, South Dakota, Thunder Ridge MX Park is a private venue of around 50 acres with three tracks: main track, supercross course and pee-wee loop. The main track drops a 30-bike gate, is long and wide, and lives off the natural terrain - elevation change plus man-made obstacles. A watering system covers the entire track, the pit area is large, there are electrical hook-ups for campers, a small park by the pond, and concessions on race days. One planning note: a track directory lists the venue as temporarily closed since the 2019 season. Whether that still holds is a phone call you should make - do not drive five hours across the prairie on hope. Length, width and elevation change make this track fast, and fast means the bike goes vague in the long sweepers and stops holding its line. Our first cause is sag balance.
