The track at Siedlecin, north-west of Jelenia Gora, belongs to Moto Klub Siedlecin - according to scigacz.pl an association founded in March 2005 with 24 members, set up to bring off-road riders together and to keep local motorsport alive. The site is a former gravel pit, cleared and developed from overgrown wasteland starting in spring 2004; the directory singles out the natural shaping of the ground and the standard of track preparation. Access is regulated and priced: 15 zloty for a riding day, 350 zloty for an annual pass giving unlimited riding, apart from the dates when the club runs its own events. Once a year the club puts on an amateur cross country. The source gives no track length; our record holds a 1,580-metre course on loamy ground, filed as technical, jump-heavy and tight. A compact club circuit cut into old pit ground means many changes of direction over few metres: you spend more time cornering than going straight, and a bike that hesitates on turn-in costs you time and energy several times a lap. Top of our cause list here is too little rear ride height - raise the rear, or drop the front relative to it, so the steering bites earlier and you can actually hold the tight line.
