The track is named after Zbigniew Rutkowski, a multiple Polish motocross champion from the Szczecin club - it opened in 2006, some 20 kilometres south-west of Szczecin and a stone's throw from the German border, just past Kołbaskowo. Today it is run by the Pro Racing Team club. The Polish track catalogue counts twelve jumps and records the ground as a sand-clay mix; sitting between fields and woodland, the site brings plenty of rollers and elevation change. If you have no bike with you, you can hire one - the club also offers coaching, and riders train here before competitions. Elevation plus sand is a tiring combination: uphill the sand eats your momentum, downhill it loads the front wheel. Approach the climbs earlier and smoother on the throttle than instinct suggests - it costs you time on lap one and saves you energy from lap three onwards. The sand classic: the rear pogos and swims. Top of our cause list is shock rebound set too fast - fewer clicks out and the rear settles.
