Revolution Park sits in Carlisle, South Carolina: 87 acres carrying a national-style outdoor track of 1.2 miles, a good 1930 metres, with a 40-man gate that drops roughly 100 yards downhill into a left-hander. The ground is clay and the facility has an underground watering system - the reason the track does not dust over completely in high summer. Riding is Saturday 10:00 to 18:00 and Sunday 12:00 to 18:00, and the day rate is 20 dollars. A downhill start into a left-hander only rewards bravery if your braking is right. Rehearse the launch a few times on your own in the first session rather than meeting it for the first time in traffic. Watered clay then produces the thing most riders come unstuck on: the front knifes into the rut and oversteers. Top of our cause list is a fork that is too soft - add compression so the front stops folding away.
