Nordring Lauchhammer

The Nordring in Lauchhammer is run by the 4x4 Adventure Club Lauchhammer e.V. im ADAC. The club uses the site as a training ground, an event location and a club meeting point at the same time, and states that it is available at regular intervals for free riding and 4x4 training; individual dates for groups can be arranged. According to the club the ground covers several difficulty levels, from areas for training and beginner runs through technically demanding passages and trial sections to the so-called Gruene Hoelle with extreme obstacles, deep mud holes and a deep-water crossing. Fixed events run through the year: the Offroad Festival at Easter, the Whitsun team trial, the summer party with its trophy trial, the season finale with the club championship on the last October weekend, and a winter camp. The club does not currently publish fixed opening hours for training; our record lists a track length of around 1750 metres. Our record has the surface as sand, with jumps as the character trait. On ground like that the rear never stops working: it digs in, goes light under acceleration and lands again after every edge. If the rear starts to pogo and swim in deep sand instead of digging cleanly, top of our cause list is rebound set too fast at the rear. Slow it down, a few clicks less out, so the rear stops building its own rhythm.
