MX Giavera Park sits on Largo delle Pile in Giavera del Montello, province of Treviso, and is run by Motoclub Montello, which looks back on more than 47 years of club history. The operator gives the lap length as 1564 metres and names an American-style starting gate with 40 places. The facility also has pedestrian underpasses, a timing tower built next to the start line in 1986 and a speedway oval with a grandstand. The club writes that one or two ambulances with emergency doctors are on site when the track runs, and that the hospital in Montebelluna is close by. Training and free practice sessions are offered along with a minicross school; the site names no specific opening days, prices or access rules and points to its own channel for scheduled openings. Our records hold a clay-loam surface. Clay grips as long as it holds moisture; once it dries out and gets polished by the laps, there is little bite left in the flat corners in particular, and the front pushes wide instead of hooking up. Top of our cause list here is a fork that is too firm and riding too high in the stroke, so it never builds any front bite - a few clicks less compression put the wheel back into the ground.
