The track at La Fare-les-Oliviers in the Bouches-du-Rhone department is run by the Moto Club de la Fare; according to mxcircuit.fr the club office sits in Salon-de-Provence. The directory lists two courses at the same site: the motocross track at 1840 metres long and 6 metres wide, plus a supercross course of 480 metres. The ground is given as natural, rocky earth. It opens on Wednesdays and at weekends from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 13:30 until nightfall, and daily during the French school holidays except Thursdays and Fridays, when the track is groomed. A day costs 10 euros and an FFM licence is mandatory. Motorcycles, quads and sidecars are allowed. The site has water, electricity, a wash station and toilets. Rocky natural ground stays firm and gives the front wheel little feedback: the contact patch is small, grip comes from the tyre rather than from the soil, and the front reports late in flat corners. Top of our cause list for that is too much air in the front tyre - take some pressure out on hard ground so more rubber sits on the surface and the front bites earlier.
