The training track sits behind the grounds of the Venusberg quarry in the central Erzgebirge and belongs to MC Mittleres Erzgebirge e. V., founded in 1990 with around 100 members according to MX-Info; the address on file is Wiltzsch in Drebach. MX-Info gives roughly 1500 metres of length, hard loam soil with sandy sections plus corners, jumps and tables, an annual membership of 60 euro and training from Wednesday to Friday between 15:00 and 18:00. The club's own track page names Saturday from 09:00 to 18:00 and children's training on Tuesday from 16:30 to 18:30, and states that the weekday slots are set at short notice and announced on its Facebook page. On Saturdays the club asks its members to help with track building and maintenance. Loam with sandy sections builds grippy corner exits, and that is exactly where it asks for traction rather than caution: you get on the throttle early, the rear settles, and the line runs wider than planned. If the rear squats under power and pushes you wide on the exit, top of our cause list is low-speed compression at the shock that is too soft - add a little.
