MC Moorgrund e.V. im ADAC was founded in 1969, is based in Bad Salzungen and has more than 100 members; its track lies Am Heiligenberg in Gumpelstadt. According to mx-info.de the circuit is 1250 metres long and works with banked curves, demanding climbs and technically challenging sections. Motocross and enduro bikes, quads and sidecars are permitted. Training times change with the season: from April to October on Tuesday and Thursday from 16:00 to 19:00 and on Saturday from 13:00 to 18:00, in a shortened form from February to March and in November, while the venue stays closed in January and December. Members train for free, guests pay per visit: children up to 50 cc free, 65 cc 10 euros on weekdays, from 85 cc 15 euros on Saturday, quads and sidecars 15 euros. 1250 metres with banked curves and climbs is work for the rider, not just for the bike: where you brake, reposition and accelerate again without pause, you quickly end up hanging on to the bars instead of steering the machine with your legs. The result is hard forearms after a few laps. Top of our cause list is exactly that, gripping too hard. Loose arms and a centred attack position take the load off your forearms: light hands, heavy feet.
