What sets Dutch Sport Park on County Road 665 near Bloomingdale in south-western Michigan apart is the infrastructure: an RV dump station, flush toilets, outdoor and private showers, a concrete wash pad, an air and water station and a covered starting line with fans. Add a playground, a volleyball court and a horseshoe pit - the site is built as a family venue, not just as a track. The roughly 100-acre facility is watered and groomed. Admission is 5 dollars per person and the rider fee 30 dollars; camping costs nothing extra but there are no hookups. The season runs April into late autumn with varying practice and race dates, and on Saturdays quads are allowed at most open practices. A place where the whole family comes along tempts you into a long day. That is the trap: three short, focused blocks beat six hours at half throttle - tired laps on a fast track buy you nothing but risk. The problem waiting on the fast sections: the bike goes vague and restless through quick sweepers. Top of our cause list is ride-height and sag balance - set the sag first, before you start on the clickers.
