The Circuit Moto Cross de Riedseltz sits at Bremmelbach in northern Alsace and is run by the Moto Club de Riedseltz. The track directory mxcircuit.fr lists it at 1800 metres long and 6 metres wide and names earth and clay as the surface. Riding happens on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 9am to 6pm, from March to October and only when the weather allows. The same directory puts the day rate at 15 euros for adults on bikes from 125cc and an annual pass at 130 euros; an FFM or UFOLEP licence is mandatory. The site has a children's track, a paddock, toilets and a shower, and the club also rents the whole circuit out to groups. Clay has two faces: damp it binds and cuts deep ruts, dry it turns hard and slick. In a rut the front end decides whether you follow the line or get knifed out of it. Top of our cause list for exactly that problem is a fork riding too low and folding into the rut - a few clicks more front compression is the first thing to change before you touch anything else.
