The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez sits inside the Magdalena Mixiuhca sports complex in the middle of Mexico City and opened on 20 November 1959; it is named after the racing brothers Ricardo and Pedro Rodriguez. The city government of Mexico City owns the venue, and Corporacion Interamericana de Entretenimiento runs it through its OCESA subsidiary. For the return of Formula 1 the circuit was rebuilt in 2014 and 2015 under Hermann Tilke; since then the Grand Prix layout measures 4.304 kilometres and has 17 turns. The track lies 2,238 metres above sea level - Wikipedia notes that the thin air cuts aerodynamic drag far enough that teams can run high downforce without paying for it on the straight. Two sections define the lap: the slightly banked, very fast final corner known as the Peraltada, turn 17, and the passage through the Foro Sol baseball stadium, which was built inside the old Peraltada after Formula 1 left in 1992.
