MCV Oberdorf

1450 metres long, six metres wide - those are the dimensions of the MCV Oberdorf track in the Oberwart district of southern Burgenland. Motocross has been ridden in Oberdorf for more than forty years, the club itself has existed for around three decades, and the current layout was built by Werner and Christoph Lackner; their father started the sport here with a handful of friends. With roughly thirty members the club has stayed small, and the youngsters ride in the 65cc (ages 6 to 10) and 85cc (ages 11 to 15) classes. The venue hosts rounds of the Austrian motocross championship and the Auner Cup. A race lasts 30 minutes plus two laps - and that is the number to build your training around if you plan to enter. Ride ten-minute blocks all season and minute 22 is the first time you find out what this track really costs, which is far too late for the lesson. We list the ground as mixed; the character of the layout is not documented. There are no published practice times - that goes through the club.
