CMF Essenbach in Lower Bavaria runs its own facility, deliberately built to serve three groups at once: licensed racers, hobby riders and beginners. The club explicitly sees itself not only as a training venue but as a promoter of regional motorsport - which explains why the lap is not tuned to race hardness. It measures 1400 metres on clay-based ground and is tightly laid out, with built jumps. Clay has the widest range of any surface: hard and grippy when dry, quickly greasy when wet.
