Body position for sliding the rear

Supermoto · advanced · body-position

A controlled supermoto slide is body position plus smoothness, not bravery. Hang well off the inside with your inside leg out and forward, weight on the outside peg, and keep your upper body relaxed and over the front so the front keeps biting while the rear comes around. Start the slide with the rear brake and a trailing front brake as you turn in, then control the angle with the throttle and - above all - your eyes, looking through the corner to the exit. To gather it up, ease off the brakes and feed in smooth throttle; stabbing or chopping snaps the rear straight back. Learn it on a surface you know well before you try it on a dirt section.

A starting point to verify on the bike - not a safety guarantee. Change one thing at a time and check on track.
