The motocross piste belongs to the Circuito di Pomposa on the SS 309 Romea at kilometre 29 in San Giuseppe di Comacchio, and the mxcenter.it directory lists it under the Motoclub Pomposa. It is recorded at 1100 metres on sand. According to that entry it opens on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm until sunset. Listed facilities are a bar, hot and cold showers and 220-volt sockets; there is no floodlighting, so riding ends with the daylight. Here too the directory notes that you should check the hours with the operator before you travel. Sand does not forgive a lazy suspension setup: the rear works constantly, digs into acceleration bumps and rebounds before you have load on it again. Our own record also holds a tight, technical character, which packs the throttle-and-brake transitions closer together. Top of our cause list for a rear that pogos and swims is rebound that is too fast - slow it down so the back end stops building up a rhythm of its own in the deep sand.
