Only Off Road sits at Via XX Settembre 117 in Gravellona Toce, province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola. According to the track directory mxcenter.it you take the A26 motorway, exit Gravellona Toce, then follow the signs to the industrial zone. The lap is 1500 metres long, the ground is described as sandy, and the circuit is rated category 3 with ASI homologation. In winter it runs Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 to 17:00 and Tuesday to Thursday from 13:00 to 17:00; in summer Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 17:00, with Tuesday to Thursday by reservation only. There is a bar, cold and hot showers and its own minicross track, but no floodlighting and no 220 V outlets. Sand behaves differently from firm ground: it rebuilds itself under the rear wheel constantly, the back never settles, and every stab of throttle moves your line. If the rear starts to pogo and effectively swim, top of our cause list is rebound running too fast: it pushes the shock back out immediately after every hit, and the oscillation adds up bump by bump. Slow the rebound down, a few clicks less out, so the rear stays calm in the sand.
