Motocross La Gaude

A few kilometres behind Nice, above the Var valley, sits the La Gaude track - run by MC CC Nice. The ground is partly native, partly imported, which in practice means traction shifts from section to section depending on what was last brought in. You do not get on the track without an FFM or UFOLEP licence, and the club publishes neither opening times nor prices - a phone call before you set off is unavoidable here. This is not a track you read in your first session. Set out to take one single corner differently each lap rather than rebuilding your whole line - on hard ground the difference is measured in centimetres, not metres. What to expect on hardpack: the front feels vague and finds no bite. Top of our cause list is too much air pressure at the front - drop it, the contact patch grows and the front wheel starts talking to you again.
