Three European Championships plus rounds of the Polish series: the circuit at Akacjowe Wzgórze near Górkowo on the edge of Głogów has a competition record few other Polish venues can match. It is run by Automobilklub Głogów. The motocross layout measures 1950 metres and is at least eight metres wide; for cross-country a lap of roughly 7.5 kilometres, five to ten metres wide, is marked out on the same site. The ground is hard and clay-based and there are barely any big jumps - the circuit is described as an excellent school for cornering, and its real value lies in being laid into natural terrain. Take that label literally. When a track jumps little, your lap time is decided entirely at corner exit. Work on body position as you drive out, not on distance. On hard clay the trouble comes from the front: the front feels vague and finds no grip. First item on our cause list is too much front tyre pressure - drop it, and the contact patch grows noticeably.
