In Galatina the Motoclub Tre Torri runs a 1300-metre dirt course on Via Conigliano, FMI homologated and rated category 3. It opens Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; no fixed hours are published anywhere, so call ahead. There is a bar, a cold shower and 220V outlets on site - no floodlights and no minicross loop. Rounds of the Puglia/Basilicata regional championship have been run here. 1300 metres is short. For your training that means you meet the same corner again every sixty to eighty seconds. Use it: pick one single spot per session and ride it twenty times instead of trying something different every lap. On loam almost everyone gets caught at the same point: the front knifes and oversteers in the ruts. Top of our cause list is fork compression that is too soft - the fork rides too deep and folds away in the rut.
